Announcement of the 23rd Orthodox Children's Assembly in Cetinje
The 23rd Orthodox Children's Assembly of Montenegro will be held on Saturday, August 31st in Cetinje and will gather over 2,000 children, students of religious education schools from the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral and the Diocese of Budimljansko-Nikšić.
This year, a group of children from Čačak, with the "Irmos" Association, and also several members of the Children's Hilandar Society, are coming to the assembly.
As in previous years, this assembly will be marked by numerous and varied activities, all in the spirit of Christian virtues - a topic that the children studied in religious education classes in the previous school year.
The Assembly will also mark significant anniversaries: 530 years since the printing of "Octoiho privolasnik"; 130 years since his birth, 45 since his death and 10 years since the unveiling of the venerable relics of Saint Justin of Celje; 200 years since the birth of Branko Radičević; 100 years since the death of Aleksa Šantić; 25 years since the NATO bombing and 20 years since the March pogrom; 170 years since the birth of Saint Simeon Dajbabski and 110 years since the birth of the blessed Patriarch Pavle.
Like all significant church gatherings, it will begin with a blessing and the Holy Liturgy, which will be served in the Cetinje Monastery by His Holiness Metropolitan Joanikije with the clergy, beginning at 8:00 a.m.
