Calendar for March 2 Saint Great Martyr Theodore Tyrone- (White Week, White Week, Great Week, Pročka)
When Theodore joined the army (tyron means recruit), in the Marmaritsky regiment in the city of Amasia, he began the persecution of Christians under the emperors Maximian and Maximinus. Theodore did not hide the fact that he was a Christian. After a long persuasion by his elders to renounce Christ God and to offer sacrifice to idols with them, to which Theodore did not want to agree, they threw him into prison and sealed him. But in prison the Lord Jesus Christ Himself appeared to him and told him not to take earthly food anymore, because he would be with Him in eternal life. At that moment, the whole prison was brightly lit up and the terrified guards saw angels dressed in white. Then Theodore was taken out and subjected to severe torture. They killed him by throwing him into the fire. Saint Theodore suffered for Christ in the year 306.
Venerable Theodosius the Bulgarian and Roman. Saint Mariamna (Mary).
