EASTER CONCERT OF THE CHILDREN'S, YOUTH AND SENIOR CHOIR OF THE SPD JEDINSTVO HELD
In the Church of St. Nicholas in Kotor, the Easter concert and another, to say the least, wonderful performance of the children's, youth and senior choir of the Serbian singing society "Jedinstvo" (1839) Kotor, on Tuesday, April 22nd, rounded off the events dedicated to the celebration of the greatest Christian holiday, the Resurrection of Christ, in the most beautiful way.
With the Easter greeting "Christ is risen, truly risen" and the Unity's slogan "With a song in the heart, with a heart in the family", the Archbishop's Vicar of Kotor-Tivat, the parish priest of Kotor, Archpriest-Staurophorus Nemanja Krivokapić addressed the audience, reminding them that the choir has traditionally organized concerts on the occasion of the greatest Christian holiday for years.
They were conducted by Mrs. Ivana Krivokapić and MA Mihajlo Lazarević, and the large audience included the president of the Kotor Community Association Maja Mršulja and the director of the Kotor Community Association Jovan Ristić.
The youth choir performed first, and the repertoire included the Russian hymns Christ is Risen and Resurrection of Christ, then Holy, Holy, Holy Are You, Our God (Bishop Nikolaj Velimirović), Strose to soma (Greek folk song) and Orahovcu bašto rajska (Gavrilo Kujundžić).
The youngest members of our children's choir sang Easter Joy (Vedrana Dabović), Come Children, Christ is Calling (Bishop Nikolaj Velimirović) and Easter Morning (Saša Božović).
Before the senior choir performed, the youth and children's choirs sang together Everything That Breathes, Let It Praise the Lord (Psalm 150, music by Ljiljana Popović) and Glory to You, Christ (Bishop Nikolaj Velimirović).
