GOOD FRIDAY - SOLEMN VIGIL WITH ARTICLES SERVED TONIGHT IN THE CHURCH OF ST. NICHOLAS

In the Church of St. Nicholas, today on Good Friday, a Solemn Vigil with Articles was served at 8 p.m. Numerous believers with the clergy of the Kotor Parish also participated in the procession in which the Shroud was carried around the churches of St. Nicholas and St. Luke. The vigil was accompanied by singing by members of the choirs of the Serbian Singing Society "Jedinstvo" (1839) Kotor.
Addressing the faithful, the hierarchal vicar of Kotor-Tivat, the parish priest of Kotor, Archpriest-Staurophorus Nemanja Krivokapić said that “through the services during Holy Week, the reading of the Holy Gospels last night at Vespers, through the wonderful hymns that are sung, we have remembered all those events that happened for the sake of our salvation.”
"We celebrated solemnly because we know that Christ came for our salvation to suffer but also to rise again, together with our human nature to conquer death.
Just as we solemnly celebrated these days, these events, so we will celebrate even more solemnly what comes after the crucifixion, which is the Resurrection of Christ.
Thus, through tomorrow's Great Saturday service at eight o'clock in the Church of St. Luke and at 10 o'clock here in the Church of St. Nicholas, we will in a certain way already celebrate the Holy Resurrection. Namely, at the Liturgy, when the Church bell rings, these purple vestments are changed to light, white ones and the Easter Gospel is read. Then Easter begins liturgically," said Father Nemanja.
He reminded us of the schedule of morning services on Easter itself in the Church of St. Nicholas in Kotor on Sunday, April 20: at five o'clock RESURRECTION, MORNING, at six HOLY LITURGY (in the church of St. Nicholas), at eight HOLY LITURGY (in the church of St. Basil in Dobrota) and at 10 o'clock - HOLY LITURGY (in the church of St. Nicholas).
