Lithia in honor of the heroes from Košar and Pastrik
In Nikšić, on Friday, April 12, 2024, the Kosar litija was held, which, for the fourth year in a row, is organized by the Association "Kosovo peonies from the city of Nikšić". In this way, honor is paid and the memory of the participants of the battles, which were fought in Košare and Paštrik in 1999, is preserved.
In the afternoon hours, the procession started from Šak Petrović Square, below the Cathedral of St. Vasilij Ostroški, passing through the city, to Freedom Square, and a large number of Nikšić citizens and guests participated.
Archpriest Stavrophor Dragan Krušić blessed the gathering, welcoming "the spiritual children of Saint Sava, Saint Emperor Lazarus, Saint Vasilij Ostroski, and all the martyrs and new martyrs of Kosovo and Metohija and saints from the Serbian race."
Archpriest Miajlo Backović, otherwise a member of the Association of Veterans of the 63rd Parachute Brigade, stated that he was encouraged and pleased that in this memorial litany, together with the admirers of the victims of the heroes from Košar and Pastrik, government representatives, priests, and intellectuals also participated.
Archpriest Predrag Šćepanović, archpriest vicar of Podgorica-Danilovgrad, recalled the words of the poet Momir Vojvodić, a poet from Kosovo-Metohija: Six hundred Vidovdans, God, Kosovo cannot be pacified, all the battles ended a long time ago, only the battle for Kosovo has lasted for six centuries and will continue as long as the raven roars.
Memories of the period of courage and self-sacrifice, skill, knowledge and dexterity were revived by the commander of the Kosara command, Colonel Veljko Ljubinko Đurković, originally from Somina in Banjani.
Radan Nikolić, president, and Ilija Miljanić, president of the Association "Kosovo Peonies from Nikšić City" spoke on behalf of the Association of Veterans of Wars Since 1990 of Montenegro.
The evening titled "Basketball from 1999 to eternity" was completed by: the poet Rajko Palibrk from Pljevlje, whose association is named after the basketball hero Predrag Peđa Leovac, Radovan Suknović, accompanied by the sounds of the fiddle and the flute, and the program was led by the poet Milica Bakrač.
Guests from the Municipality of Obilić in Kosovo and Metohija also participated in the prayer meeting. Organized by the NGO "Božur" from Beran and the humanitarian organization "Serbian Solidarity", and with the help of the Municipality of Nikšić and the Tourist Organization of Nikšić, about 50 children will stay in Nikšić.
