Matija Bećković receives the main award of the "Golden Knight" for the leading contribution to literature in the year of Pushkin
The main award of the 15th International Slavic Literary Forum "Golden Knight" 2024 - the Gold Medal of the Year of Pushkin for the leading contribution to literature was awarded to academician Matija Bećković.
At a grand ceremony held on November 24 in the church assembly hall of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, which concluded the annual cycle of "Golden Knight" events, the main awards in the fields of art, film, theater and literature were presented.
Among the main awardees this year were directors Karen Shakhnazarov and Andrei Konchalovsky, composer Alexei Rybnikov, and conductor Yuri Bashmet.
At the same ceremony, on the occasion of her 70th birthday, the Order of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga, II degree of the Russian Orthodox Church was awarded to Serbian writer Ljiljana Habjanović Đurović for her contribution to the preservation of traditional values in society.
Incidentally, within the framework of the Slovenian Literary Forum "Golden Knight", three more of ours are among the hundred awardees this year. Stevan Gajić won a gold diploma in the category "History of Slavic Peoples" for the book "We are from the Future. Serbian View of the Russian Space. From Euromaidan to the SVO", published in Moscow in 2023.
In the category of artistic translations, gold diplomas were awarded to Irina Stojičević for the translation into Russian of Đorđe Sibinović's novel "Nizvodno" (2023) and Vera Horvat for selected translations of contemporary Russian poets (2022-2024).
