According to the blessing and decision of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, on the feast day of St. John Vladimir of Zeta, the Martyr King, the matriculation and final theological maturity exams began in the Seminary of St. Peter of Cetinje in Cetinje in the 2023/2024 school year. year.

This school year, students of the XXVIII generation of the renovated Theological Seminary of St. Peter of Cetinje (2019-2024) are completing their education at the Cetinje Seminary (2019-2024), whose class teacher was Professor Mr. Zoran Dubljević.

According to the decision of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the delegate to the matriculation and the theological maturity exam this year in the Cetinje seminary is archpriest-stavrophor Dr. Nenad Tupeša, associate professor of the Orthodox Theological Faculty of St. Vasilij Ostroski in Foča, University of East Sarajevo.

At the beginning of the matriculation and theological maturity exams, the envoy held a meeting with the rector of the Cetinje seminary and professors, members of the Examination Board, regarding the plan for taking the written and oral part of the exam.

On this occasion, the Rector, Archpriest Blagoje Rajković, on behalf of the Teachers' Council, welcomed the delegate of the Holy Synod of Bishops to the graduation exam.

After reading the prayer for the beginning of graduation, the emissary of the Holy Synod of Bishops opened the sealed envelope containing the topics and read to the students the rules for submitting written work and gave them a blessing for their work.

The Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, in the department of church education at its session held on May 9, 2024, no. 476 / zap. 332, for this school year, he determined three topics for the preparation of written work for the Final Theological Maturity Exam, which candidate trainees in eight seminaries of the Serbian Orthodox Church will take in the June exam period of the 2023/24 school year. years.

The following topics were assigned in the graduation paper, which lasted four hours:

1. The Holy Liturgy as an icon of the Kingdom of God

2. Service of the bishop in the Church

3. The relationship of the state to the Church before and after the Edict of Milan and the consequences of that relationship for the life of the Church

To prepare a written paper for the final theological maturity exam in the June exam period of the school. 2023/24. seven candidates joined (five full-time and two part-time students).

On Wednesday, June 5, the candidates will take the oral part of the matriculation exam, in the subjects of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments and in Church chanting with typica.

In the following days, the students will answer and demonstrate their knowledge of dogmatics, ethics, history of the Christian Church and the history of the Serbian Church, liturgy, church and marriage law.
