Memorial to King Peter I in Oplenac
On the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the death of King Peter I Karađorđević, on August 16, 2024, His Eminence Metropolitan Šumadija Mr. Jovan served the Holy Bishop's Liturgy and memorial service for King Peter I in his endowment, the Church of the Holy Great Martyr George in Oplenac.
Archpriests-Stavrophorians Miladin Mihailović, Mića Ćirković, Dragoljub Rakić and Đorđe Radišić served the Metropolitan; archpriests Milan Savić and Ostoja Pešić; proto-deputies Slobodan Radivojević and Marko Stevanović; Archdeacon Ivan Gašić; and deacon Stevan Ilić.
The Holy Liturgy was attended by members of the royal family, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Aleksandar Karađorđević with his wife Princess Katarina; Prince Filip and Princess Danica; Prince Mihailo and Princess Ljubica; as well as the Minister for Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Mr. Nemanja Starović.
The singing group Serbian Orthodox Singers from Belgrade contributed to the beauty of the service.
