PERFORMANCE OF THE KOTOR SPD JEDINSTVO IN THE CHURCH OF ST. THE ANNUNCIATION ATTRACTED THE ATTENTION OF THE DUBROVNIK MEDIA

About the performance of the choir of the Serbian Singing Society (SPD) "Jedinstvo" (1839) Kotor in the Church of the Annunciation in Dubrovnik last Saturday (March 23), the local media reported. Thus, the portal of the Diocese of Dubrovnik informs about the "occasional concert SPD Jedinstvo from Kotor as part of the Christian Face of Culture event organized by the Council for Culture and Science of the Diocese of Dubrovnik". "At the beginning of the program, the Orthodox priest Stevan Kovačević and conductor Mr. Mihajlo Lazaravić, emphasizing the connection between Dubrovnik and Kotor and briefly presenting the activities of the choir. SPD Jedinstvo was founded in 1839, and the main goal of the Society is to engage in cultural and educational work, especially church, artistic and folk singing. The SPD Jedinstvo Choir has participated in many events, festivals and competitions, won several awards and released seven audio recordings. Given that the concert is on the eve of Holy Week for Catholics, conductor Lazarevic pointed out that the concert program is divided into two parts. In the first part, you could hear the performances that are usually performed during the Holy Trinity on Holy Thursday, Friday and Saturday, namely: O Vsepjetaja Mata (Aleksandar A. Arkhangelski), Sija Glagoljet (Dmitrij M. Bortnjanski), Lament for the Most Holy Mother of God (nun Juliania Denisova), The Robber of Reason (Nikolaj Kalugin), Don't Weep for Me Mother (Leonid D. Malashkin), Bless my soul, Lord (Mikhail I. Ivanov), Holy God (Yaroslava Pšchednik), Ije cherubimi (nun J. Denisova), Svyat , Holy, Holy Lord Savaot, I sing to You (Stevan St. Mokranjac). The second part of the program was performances that talk about the resurrection: Christ is Risen (Kornelije Stanković), Christ Anesti (Gavril V. Muzičesku) and Many Summers (Vasilij N. Zinovjev)", it says, among other things, on the website of the Diocese of Dubrovnik. The concert ended with the thanks of Peter Bukilica, member of the SPD Unity Management Board, who spoke about the connection between Unity and Dubrovnik, which has been going on since the consecration of the Church of St. Annunciation in 1877. "On behalf of the organizers, Mons. Ivica Pervan, Vicar General of the Diocese of Dubrovnik", reads, among other things, on the website of the Diocese of Dubrovnik. Otherwise, this year's manifestation in Dubrovnik ends today (March 26) with a big concert in the church of the Little Brothers. "Requiem" by W.A. will be performed at the concert, which starts at 8 p.m. Mozart, and the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra and three choirs will perform: the Mixed Choir of Musical Art Studies of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Educational Sciences of the University of Mostar, the Pro Musica Academic Choir from Mostar and the Choir of the High School of Music Ivana pl. Zajca - Mostar. The soloists will be: Nada Pejković, soprano, Žana Marendić, mezzo-soprano, Bože Jurić-Pešić, tenor and Ante Jerkunica, bass. Conductor Hari Zlodre.
