SPC assistance of 100,000 euros to families most at risk from floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina
His Holiness, Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Mr. Porfirije gave an order to the Religious Charitable Guardianship in Belgrade, a charitable organization that operates within the framework of the Serbian Orthodox Church, to send a one-time aid in the amount of 100,000 euros to the families most at risk of floods in BiH through the Eparchy of Zahum-Herzegovina.
Aid will be distributed regardless of their religion and nationality, the Serbian Orthodox Church announced on Saturday.
"The spiritual head of the Orthodox Serbs prays to Christ the Savior for all the victims, that the Lord comforts their families and stops the disaster so that the suffering and destruction of property that has been acquired by generations will stop," the statement said.
Patriarch Porfirije, who is on a canonical visit to the clergy and believers in Canada, appeals to all the peoples of the Balkans, especially in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, to show mutual solidarity in these difficult days, because we all need each other.
