Students of the XXVIII generation of the renovated Cetinje seminary graduated (2019-2024)

In the seminary of St. Peter of Cetinje in Cetinje, according to the blessing and decision of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, from Tuesday, June 4 to Saturday, June 8, 2024, the graduation and theological maturity exam for students of the XXVIII generation of the renovated five-year Cetinje seminary took place (2019 -2024). On the first day of the matriculation exam, the written part of the matriculation exam was organized, while on the following days, the candidate trainees answered and demonstrated their knowledge of the Holy Scriptures of the Old Testament, the Holy Scriptures of the New Testament, Church chanting with typica, Dogmatics, Ethics, History of the Christian Church, History of the Serbian Church , Liturgy, Church and Marriage Law.

The representative of the SAS of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the president of the examination board at the graduation exam was archpriest-stavrofor prof. Dr. Nenad Tupeša, associate professor of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology of the University of East Sarajevo "St. Vasilije Ostroški" in Foča. Seven candidates, five full-time and two part-time students, attended the graduation.

After the exams were completed, on Saturday, June 1, 2024, on the feast of the Holy Apostles Carpus and Alpheus, St. John the Psychite and the Holy New Martyr Alexander of Thessalonica, on the occasion of the completion of the matriculation and the theological examination of maturity, in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Cetinje Monastery, the Holy liturgy with an act of thanksgiving.

The liturgical assembly was presided over by archpriest-stavrofor prof. Dr. Nenad Tupeša, with concelebration by archpriest Blagoj Rajković and hieromonk Gavrilo Raičević. After communion, a solemn act of thanksgiving was served.

After that, archpriest-stavrofor prof. Dr. Nenad Tupeša, congratulating the theologian graduates.

In the administrative building of the Cetinje seminary, after the liturgical assembly in the Cetinje monastery, the diploma awarding ceremony followed. At the beginning of the ceremony, archpriest-stavrofor, prof. Dr. Nenad Tupeša, and then diplomas and books were presented to the graduated theologians.

At the end of this blessed work, the rector of the Cetinje seminary, archpriest Blagoje Rajković, thanked the SAS SPC envoy Fr. Nenadu Tupesi.

In addition to the rector and professors, the consul of the Republic of Greece in Montenegro, Mr. with mother Maria.

At the formal lunch, held in the dining room of the seminary, all present were first greeted by the class teacher of this generation, prof. Mr. Zoran Dubljević.

On behalf of his generation, the representatives of the SAS of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the rector, the professors, and the guests, he greeted Mr. Stefan Petrović.

At the lunch, the consul and chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Greece in Montenegro also addressed a welcome letter, Mr. Ioannis Kehajaras and the former rector of the Cetinje seminary for many years, archpriest-stavrophore Gojko Perivić.

At the end of the festive lunch, everyone was greeted by the emissary of the SAS SPC archpriest-stavrfoor prof. Dr. Nenad Tupeša and rector of the seminary archpriest Blagoje Rajković.

In the XXVIII generation, seven students completed their education at the Cetinje Seminary. Two students graduated with honors, Mr. Miloš Babović (Mitropolia Montenegrin-Primorska) and Mr. Lazar Šćepanović (Mitropolis of Montenegro and the Littoral). They were exempted from the oral part of the matriculation exam because they completed the third, fourth and fifth grades of regular schooling with excellent results. They finished with very good success. Mihailo Drašković (Mitropolis of Montenegro and the Littoral), Mr. Stefan Petrović (Mitropolia Montenegrin-Primorska) and Mr. Marko Milojko (Mitropolis of Montenegro and the Littoral). Mr. Miroslav Bujak (Diocese of Mileševska) showed good success, while Mr. Vasilije Pavićević (Diocese of Budimljansko-Niššić) finished with sufficient success.

With the blessing of the competent bishops, candidates from this generation will continue their education at several prestigious theological faculties and academies.

Messrs. Mihailo Drašković and Stefan Petrović will continue their theological training at the Theological Academy in Moscow. Mr. Miloš Babović and Lazar Šćepanović continue to study at the Theological Faculty of Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, while Mr. Marko Milojko will continue his education at the Orthodox Theological Faculty in Libertyville.

Congratulating the graduates of the XXVIII generation of the renovated Seminary of Saint Peter of Cetinje (2019-2024), we pray to the Lord that Saint Peter of Cetinje the Miracle Worker and Venerable Simeon the Myrrh-Blessing, their class glory, and the saints of Cetinje and Montenegro, accompany them in all the days of their lives .
