Tears from the Eye of Christ on the Icon in the Cathedral of St. George in Prizren

Yesterday, January 4, 2025, the Cathedral of St. George in Prizren was visited by a group of pilgrims from the “Metohija for Young People”. While the believers were kissing the icons, it was noticed that on the icon, which was painted after the miraculous icon of the Kazan Mother of God with Christ, tears were flowing from the eyes of the Savior. The tears were colorless and odorless, like natural human tears, and it was ruled out that they were oil from the lamp, because the lamp is lower than the image of the Savior.
The gathered believers began to sing troparia, and the Prizren parish priest, Father Jovan Radić, anointed those present with oil from the lamp. Afterwards, the Akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos was read, with the participation of priest Vladan and deacon Stefan, who serve at the Church of the Mother of God of Ljeviška in Prizren. Metropolitan Teodosije of Raška-Prizren was informed about this event.
Tears flowed from the eyes of the Savior for about an hour. In these pre-Christmas days, we experience this obvious sign of God as a consolation and reminder that Christ does not forget his faithful people in Kosovo and Metohija, that the Most Holy Mother of God constantly prays for us, but also as a call not to cease our prayers for salvation and peace in Kosovo and Metohija and the whole world.
