The celebration of the Holy Martyrs of Prebilova and other Herzegovinian martyrs began with the lecture of Iguman Rafail
With the presentation of the abbot of the Podmaine monastery, Fr. Rafail (Boljević) on the topic of "The Rampart of Memory" in the Church of Christ's Resurrection in Prebilovci last night, August 4, the commemoration of the Holy Martyrs of Prebilovci and All-Herzegovina and the 83rd anniversary of one of the most brutal crimes committed against the Serbian people began.
The lecture was attended by His Eminence the Metropolitan of Zahum-Herzegovina and Ston-Limorski Mr. Dimitrije, as well as a large number of believers.
In an inspired lecture, Fr. Raphael spoke to the faithful about the evil of forgetting and the need for constant remembrance and daily remembrance of Christ. He said that the people of Prebilo call for deeper remembrance and to bear witness to the mystery of the resurrection, which is also the mystery of salvation and the Savior.
He states that all holy martyrs are conductors of grace energies and that grace inspired and encouraged them to accept death calmly, quietly and with Christian dignity. Then, as he says, in the name of the Cross and the Resurrection, they gained the power of witnessing that the Lord is alive and that he arranged for us all to have abundant life.
The abbot states that the bones bear witness to the secret of salvation.
"That central secret of salvation in the Church is the foundation of our life, and we see that it is attacked by the viruses of forgetfulness, carelessness, and laziness. Without memory, we cannot love, appreciate and hand over anything to others if we do not have memory. You cannot live in the Church of Christ without him", said Abbot Rafaelo.
He emphasizes that we should force ourselves to oppose the force of oblivion, which is the result of the action of impure forces.
"It's not a bad memory or senility, but it's the action of evil spirits... A man who doesn't have God in his mind and heart is a desolate place, where God doesn't dwell, it's a spiritual landfill where a huge amount of rubble is thrown out every day," said Fr. Rafaelo .

The program continues tonight at 7:00 p.m. when a festive vespers will be served in the Church in Prebilovci. After that, the permanent exhibition "Prebilovci 1941" organized by the Museum of Genocide Victims will be opened in the House of Culture "Sveti kralj Milutin" in Prebilovci.
For the first time, the Museum of Genocide Victims organizes a permanent exhibition outside the territory of Serbia, in order to preserve from oblivion all the innocent victims of Prebilovci and the village that is a symbol of the suffering of Serbs in Herzegovina, but also in the entire Serbian ethnic area.
The exhibition will present the most valuable artifacts about the crime in Prebilovci in 1941, such as a replica of Stana Arnaut's chair (the original is kept in the Museum of Genocide Victims), a teacher from Prebilovci, who was tortured, raped, beaten in the school, which is now the House of Culture, along with another hundred of his students.
The exhibition will also feature the flag that was used to cover the coffins with the remains taken out of numerous concrete pits throughout Herzegovina during dignified burials in 1990 and 1991.
The commemoration of the Holy Martyrs of Prebilovci and All-Herzegovina and the 83rd anniversary of one of the most brutal crimes committed against the Serbian people ends on August 6, when the central celebration is the Holy Bishop's Liturgy, which will be served by several bishops in the Church of the Resurrection in Prebilovci at 9 a.m.
